RCA DTC210 won't control Sony VCR

Having trouble finding a VCR my RCA reciever will control. Tried a new JVC, also won't work. Synphonic works but is not what I want. Any ideas?

What model Sony? Try these codes for Sony 2004, 2098, 2099, 2119 or 2009, 2010, 2011, 2018, 2111, 2123 for JVC and let us know.
