I have the RCA DVR40 on one of my TV's. The wife loves the Tivo interface and would be lost without being able to record her shows, but it would be nice to have more recording time.

Question....

Should I look for a used R10 or should I bypass the R10 Tivo and get the new DVR (R15)?

Or, can I upgrade the old RCA DVR40 to get more recording time on it?

Anybody???

Upgrade the RCA DVR40 or get the new, non Tivo, R-15?

Suggestions?

I suggest getting the R15 because Tivo is being phased out I guess so piss on it.

Keep the Tivo. You will be sorry if you don't. Just upgrade your drive.

I got an R15 for our bedroom and wish I would have gotten another Tivo.

R15, even if it is buggy, DTV is phasing out Tivo, meaning less and less support for the future.
Not true. They still support Ultimate TV, how many years has it been since that was phased out????? They will continue to support the Tivo for many years to come.

I am tempted to upgrade the drive, but its over a hundred bucks or more to do it from what it looks like.

Buy yourself a drive and do it yourself. I did one awhile back and it wasn't that hard if you are comfortable working with computers.
