Would a surround sound speaker sitting on a receiver cause any problems? I know there is a magnet in the speaker, would that cause any problems. They could be watching tv and then it would go to aquiring signal and then back to tv. All new wire was ran and new LNB but still doing it.

If you have a DVR, you had better get that speaker off your receiver. D: Even if the speaker is shielded, I wouldn't take chances.

On the other hand, constantly losing signal sounds like an alignment problem. What receiver do you have? Also, hit MENU-6-1-1; what are your signal strengths?

It's a 301. I've figured out its the receiver. Doing the same thing at another location. My main thing I was wanting to know about is the speakers sitting on the receivers. Thanks for your help.

yeah, sitting on top of the receiver is fine... dvr's you probably wouldn't want to... but thats just cause there is a hard drive in them
