Regional Sports Networks on DirecTV?

Are the RSNs always in HD when an HD event is being broadcast by your RSN?

I'm most interested in NESN, for the Red Sox. Also, the Celtics games. Last year the away games were in SD even though SportsNet did have an HD broadcast going on.

Could a few of you comment on this, please? Yeah, I have Dish Network now but lately been thinking about the other option. Never thought I would but as a consumer I can do what I want I guess.

I'm not looking for a pile-on, just some constructive input if you don't mind.

DirecTV has NESN HD as a full time RSN on channel 628 and shows whatever HD content that NESN gives them. They also have an alternate/overflow HD channel 629-1 for NESN when there's two games the need to cover which is fired up when needed.

You might want to check http://www.directv.com/DTVAPP/global/contentPageIF.jsp?assetId=P3000004 to see if NESN would be a RSN that you'd get as part of your basic packages for your location.

If it says it's a HD channel, unless the channel number has a -1 behind it, it's a full time HD channel.

NESN is indeed HD 24/7 all content. This is one of the reasons I am a Directv customer after 10+ years with the competition.
