When I was younger, My uncle had both a c and ku band sat. receiver. I really used to enjoy the network feeds to the affiliates, and other network signals and uplinks. I'm about to have some open yardspace, and I'm thinking of playing with FTA (shortwave radio has become boring/ dead) and I was wondering how often you guys pickup network feeds. Thanks

news backhaul feeds of the major affiliates happen when the anchors are outside of New York. 2004 election stuff with Peter Jennings was on backhaul from various cities. NBC doesn't have that many anymore. LA studio feed on F1 c-band whenever Tom Brokaw was in LA to feed back to NY is gone now. Don't know about CBS for sure, but haven't seen any in a long time like 10 years.

MikeI said:
10/88-11/96 5/98-present = c-band
6/96-present = DirecTV
6/96-11/02 - Ku dish for SBS 6 to AMC 1
3/97-present = Dish Network
5/98-4/06 = 5 ft c-band dish
3/00-present = 1st Primestar dish. Now on AMC 1
11/02-present = 2nd thru 5th Primestar dishes are bought. Now on IA 8, G11, IA 6 and G10
8/05-present = 6th PrimeStar dish is bought for G4.
12/05-present = 2 1 meter dishes are bought for SBS 6 and AMC 2.
4/06-present = 6 ft c-band dish replaces 5 footer.

That's what I call a serious dish farm. Way to go Mike ;)
