Remote problem with Genie RVU-C31 Client Receiver

I have a new DirectTV installation (about 2 weeks old) and have an issue with the RVU-C31 Client Receiver. It seems to get into a remote repeat mode, where I press, for example, Down (once), and it keeps going down in the guide. Also, if I try and get to say Channel 213, it tries to go to Channel 21, finds the nearest channel to 21 (in this case 20), then goes to Channel 3. It will not accept 2-1-3.

If I press the red reset button, it starts to work properly.

I have a Sharp 3D TV in this room. Could the IR from that TV be messing up the RVU? It's very frustrating and my wife hates the thing. (I had her download the iPad app to use for a remote for now)

I have my remote set to rf, and still have this problem with the clients, its like a delay between the remote talking to the box. Im pretty sure its a software bug if anything. Ironaclly i have an lg 3d tv on this box, but i doubt its a 3d thing. I use rf you use ir. I think its just the software.
