Remove News banner?

Just checked...yes, in preferences (News Ticker). Decided to post anyway in case anyone else was wondering.

Yup that's one of the new features of the updated news banner installed this afternoon. You can turn it off if you want.

I like the newer, more compact, format of this news banner, compared to the one you tried when you first removed the homepage!

Still gets the job done, but not quite as distracting.

I thought my Ublock was going on the fritz when the news ticker first showed up.

Interestingly, for some reason Ublock removes the SatGuys banner at the top.

I realize as a Pub/Lifetime member I don't need to block ads here but the title banner behavior I noticed when I was playing with the Ublock settings when the news ticker first showed up.
