Can Dish Receivers be repaired? I have a PVR721 that tuner 1 has quit working. I don't want to buy a new receiver (looked at the 625) as I would get hit with the dual tuner fee plus the dvr fee.

calling the 18003333474 and then the tech just goes in a loop

Hey Claude! Long time since I talked with you. Hope things are going good for you.

Hmm, I had another idea. Dangerous as that is ...

What if I call tomorrow and change to the AdvantageDVR plan.
I would end up with a new 625 receiver. The DVR fee is already in the price.
I would get charged an extra $5 for the mirror fee since that would be the 6th receiver on my account.
Now, here is the big question, supossedly the AdvantageDVR plan includes installation for free. I currently have all legacy equipment using 2 SW-64s to run 5 receivers. Three are dual tuner models so both SW64s are full. Would Dish upgrade me to the new DishPro equipment since it would be required to install the new receiver. (I have 3 PVR721s and 2 DVR508s. Dish 500 for 110/119 and Dish 300 for 61.5 for Sky Angel)

I don't mind commiting to 18 months or signing up for auto-pay if so. I've been with Dish for almost 9 years already.

Yes like thigin2 said, sign up then wait a few days before calling about bad receiver.
