i have a large dish used for both direct pc and direct pc. i don't use direct pc. it currently works, giving me direct tv. but if the lnb fails, how do i get a new one?

:welcome

If the LNB fails and you dont use Direct PC anymore, it would be time to get a new dish by calling Directv. I used to have the same dish as you and its quite big. I would then have directv install the 5 LNB Slimline dish which is geared for the future. Since you are used to the large dish it shouldnt be a shock to you.

If you didn't want to replace the dish, it is just a standard sat LNB. You can buy it at radio shack, etc. I saw some on clearance at walmart for $10 a few weeks ago.

Getting a dish upgrade would be good to get a smaller dish, but if you do not want HD any time soon, your current situation is fine.

LNB failure is not really all that common unless something happens to it physically or electrically.
