First time posting on this side of the forum and already posted this question on the Directv side, but does anyone have any insight as to why Directv continues to prevent its customers from viewing hbogo through a Roku box? They're now supporting viewing on the Chromecast stick and still nothing for Roku, what gives? I like the Chromecast but it's still a developing item while the Roku is way more established. Could it be a dlna thing?

The reason you can use the Chromecast is because that feature can not be determined by your carrier. HBOGO the app uses Chromecast regardless of what provider you have. Signing into Roku can be determined by the carrier. There are other instances of not allowing something on Roku but allowing it on your computer.

I am sure there has to be coordination between RoKu and DIRECTV to allow the login. As mentioned the chromecast is simply mirroring the web browser.
