I'll add the HD Homerun app works, but the video playback isn't as good as passing through the Channels DVR for some reason. No Channels app for Roku, sadly.Does the HD Homerun app work on Apple TV? How about iOS apps that work on phones/iPads?
Yes on the HD Homerun. At least with the Channels DVR.
No. If it isn't in in the tvOS store you can't install it. Prime example is my Ring and Blink cameras.

So..what happens to Netflix?...Netflix spun Roku off into a independent company...
I am running the tvOS 26 Developer Beta on my Apple TV and haven't had any of those issues on my ATV 4K 2nd generation. Which ATV 4K are you using? That said, I am not a fan of where the ATV4K has been headed. tvOS 26 has been buggy as heck for me. In addition to apps just straight up needed to be restarted regularly and crashing, I am getting video stuttering and audio drops pretty regularly which was not a problem before. Also, aside from one 12+ year-old TV with a Samsung soundbar of a similar age, HDMI-CEC just refuses to cooperate. Worse than that, if I turn CEC off, it will turn itself back on randomly. I got HDMI adapters that block CEC signals, but I still run into problems on three TVs where the setting to control volume via IR randomly resets to HDMI-CEC. On one of the TVs, I have to reset the remote to get it working again when this happens. This is not typical of the usual "pretty much just works" experience I get from Apple.
I wish Apple would hurry up and come out with a new Apple TV. I want one that can pass through all kinds of audio types natively.
To me the Roku is like a toy and still looks basically the same since it was released. I don't consider it a real media server, which is why I like Android TV boxes, where I can really customize my experiences. But the Android TV's don't pass all audio types natively either.
Do they get kicked off?...do they get charged an outrageous access fee? Should be fun to watchUh, why would anything happen to Netflix if they already divested Roku?
That would make sense. I haven't really messed around with it.Transcoding issue maybe?
I didn't realize until the other day that my HD Homerun "Extend" transcodes video internally. You can force it to push the raw video feed, but my Roku's can't handle it. The "mobile" setting works OK.

Get your Roku's now, before they run out of stock on the current generation.
Then again, it might be a while before Fox gets into the production aspects of the Roku's ... thier not going to be rebuilding them the day after the agreement is completed.

May as well, seeing everyone says the systems in the TV's are junk and not updated.I would still prefer to buy "dumb" TV's also.

They sell a LOT of Roku's and Firesticks ...
Why can't they make a good reliable set ups that work IN the already Streaming ready TV's ?
And make it so they will automatically update when the Streamer does.
Roku's and Firesticks automatically get the Netflix and other Updates.
You already pay for it to be in the TV, now they want you to Not Use it and buy after market.![]()
Samsungs OS (which I believe is Tizen) stinks. I have been burned a few times in the past by Samsung TV's where my apps stop working and there are no updates, and Samsung wants you to buy a new TV. I have gotten away from Samsung TV's for this very reason.
