A regular Roku box will work with Comcast by the end of the year. Charter/Time Warner Cable are moving to IP delivery.

Also, why should satellite be exempted from the set-top standard.

I can already get my full Charter Spectrum TV subscription on my Roku 3... It has a nice guide and everything.
