'Royal Pains' Ranks As USA's Top Rookie Series

Royal Pains to End After Next Season, As One Era of USA Programming Slowly Fades Away http://www.vulture.com/2016/03/royal-pains-to-end-after-next-season.html#
Every blue sky eventually becomes a sunset: Royal Pains, the medical procedural about an attractive doctor treating attractive patients in a variety of attractive Hamptons locations, will end after its upcoming eighth season, USA announced Thursday. Alongside Burn Notice and White Collar, Royal Pains was an indelible part of the network's aggressively sunny turn-of-the-decade slate, which is on the way out in favor of a grittier approach aimed at the millennial audience. That sea change has brought us Mr. Robot, so it's hard to be too sad about it, but still, this news does feel a bit like the end of an era. Farewell, Mark Feuerstein: May your smile brighten rainy Saturdays on the couch for years to come.

How The Royal Pains Creative Team Feels About The Show Ending After Season 8 http://www.cinemablend.com/televisi...-Feels-About-Show-Ending-Season-8-124097.html
When USA signed on for an eighth season of Royal Pains, we learned only eight episodes would be produced, down from the 12-18 the show got during its heyday, but the same number as Season 7 was given. Because last season only earned eight episodes, there was some hope that Season 8 might not be the last for the series, despite rumors to the contrary. However, earlier this week, USA confirmed that Royal Pains will be ending after this final set of episodes. Obviously, people near and dear to the show are a little bummed about Royal Pains ending, but many of them are also grateful that the show was given such a lengthy run. Here’s how the cast and crew responded to the show’s cancellation. Royal Pains lead Mark Feuerstein came out on Twitter this week to talk about the time he did get to spend on the show, noting he’s just happy that he got to put together one last rap recap for the fans.
