As of today, Dish has dropped the AT&T RSN's and Root Sports.
So...that means the only RSN left on Dish is NESN?

· DISH proposes new model that is fair to both customers and station owners
ENGLEWOOD, Colo., Sept. 30, 2021 – AT&T SportsNet and Root Sports Regional Sports Networks (RSNs) were removed from DISH TV today. With this removal, DISH TV customers will no longer have access to AT&T SportsNet Rocky Mountain (ATTRM), AT&T SportsNet Pittsburgh (ATTPT) and Root Sports Northwest (RTNW).
“The current RSN model is fundamentally broken,” said Brian Neylon, group president, DISH TV. “This model requires nearly all customers to pay for RSNs when only a small percentage of customers actually watch them.”
AT&T SportsNet and Root Sports RSNs are demanding rates that would be passed on to nearly every customer, whether they watch RSNs or not. This inequitable model has become antiquated due to the rise of a la carte viewing options and specialized streaming services.
“Our proposal to offer sports fans access to RSNs is simple, and provides choice and value to all of our customers,” added Neylon. “It would allow DISH TV customers to choose to subscribe to the RSN channels they want — such as the regional AT&T SportsNet and Root Sports networks — on an a la carte basis, similar to premium subscription channels. With this updated RSN model, no customer would be forced to pay for content they don’t watch, and the RSNs would determine the price customers would pay for their channels.”
DISH made this consumer-friendly proposal to AT&T SportsNet and Root Sports, but they refused it. They instead chose to continue demanding rates that are unreasonable to pass on to our customers. DISH remains open to working with the RSNs to offer sports content in a way that provides choice and value to all customers.

I can't understand why these channels would rather be getting NO money than SOME money. Why don't their shareholders remove the people making such imbecilic and deranged decisions?
Because that is not how the market works. The flaw in Dish’s argument is that virtually EVERY channel is “only” watched by a small minority. And?I can't understand why these channels would rather be getting NO money than SOME money. Why don't their shareholders remove the people making such imbecilic and deranged decisions?
Back when Dish was routinely adding new channels, did our bills go up when those channels were added? (Outside of the annual price increases, of course....)Where is the part about lowering our bills
Which, historically, amounted to $5 a month.Back when Dish was routinely adding new channels, did our bills go up when those channels were added? (Outside of the annual price increases, of course....)
They are greedy corporations, who hope that the standoff will result in them getting their insane amounts of money paid monthly by all subscribers, in order for a few subscribers to watch the RSNs. DISH is right to say Hell No! to this. These type of tactics, along with Local stations extorting more and more money each time their contracts come up, is why traditional tv like cable and satellite are on the decline and it will prove to be the undoing of the entire industry. Ala cart is the only way this will be rectified. Canada is now mandating ala cart as law in their country and the USA needs to follow suit. But sadly, I just see more and more subscribers leaving the traditional cable/satellite model due to the delays in fixing these situations. They will have cooked the "golden goose" due to their greed.I can't understand why these channels would rather be getting NO money than SOME money. I remain convinced that if Dish had a single channel consisting of a 4 year old coloring, there is a cadre of Dish loyalists that would praise this move as exactly the kind of TV they want.DISH is right to say Hell No! to this.

Especially from Alan! There was absolutely a time when we would have clamored for the "Paint Drying Network", as long as it was in HD.
...and don't forget about the app!!Especially from Alan!
