Rumor Has It That Elvis Is Back

I am heariing the same thing. :) Although when I asked Sirius about it they said they are still tweeking some things and nothing is official yet.

Man I am starting to like Sirius more and more each day. :D

I got a chance to listen to Elvis radio last night on my beta unit. I could only last for about 15 minutes before I changed the channel.

You tune to it and say wow cool, all Elvis. After 15 minutes you say, my god it's all Elvis. :)

I would like to see them play Elvis songs covered by other artists and bands. I would also like to hear them talk about some of the stories behind some of the songs, and even break up the muisc a bit with audio from some of Elvis's movies.

I do realize I was hearing an unreleased product and things may change by the time it goes live for all next week.

I haven't heard the stream yet, but can understand your concern. To me it is nice to know Elvis is there when you need him.

From a newspaper article that is on topic:

Radio station to broadcast non-stop Elvis

A US satellite radio company announced Monday the creation of a special channel that will broadcast Elvis Presley's music 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The commercial free "Elvis Radio" will debut July 2 with a live broadcast from Memphis, Tennessee where thousands of Elvis fans are expected to gather over the Fourth of July holiday weekend to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the king's first single "That's All Right."

Sirius Satellite Radio believes it can avoid overly repetitive content by tapping the extensive Presley catalogue, including hit singles, 'B' sides, rarities, movie soundtracks and live concert recordings.

"I know he'd be beaming with pride at having his very own station," Elvis's widow Priscilla Presley said in statement.

The channel is being launched in partnership with Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE), the company which handles the Presley estate.

"Elvis Presley was a true pioneer, a man of many firsts in our world," said EPE president Jack Soden.

"It seems natural for Elvis to be the first artist to have a satellite radio station exclusively devoted to his work."

Satellite radio is still in its infancy in the US with only two million subscribers in a country of 175 million broadcast listeners.
