Some people are reporting that V165 is downloading and it has a "My Recordings" option in the menu to set up an external HD. I am not home now so I can't confirm that my unit has the software upgrade.

edit: just checked a retailer site in Canada and the PIC SHOWS a Dish 211 with the Dish logo on it

They also aren't charging for you to use a ehd at the start. Just plug in the drive and call for a re-hit or re-hit it yourself via the bell site.

I read the will charge $25 at some point.

The only software update so far for the 9200 was to enable a USB Thumb Drive to download pictures onto the 9200 for a Slide Show.
