My hopper took software s238 on the 18th, anyone else get it? I haven't had time to play with it yet, the only thing I noticed is when you push the cancel button it brings up the info screen with a second transparent bar under the normal bar and on that bar it has a red button (says tv viewing status) and a blue button (apps).

Yes, I received it on my newest Hopper on the 18th as well and haven't noticed anything different as yet though I haven't had much of a chance to go through it as I am not home this week.....
Are you guys Dish employees, contractors, or retailers, by any chance? I don't think that rev is in general release yet.
Didn't there used to be a chart that listed the current official SW revs for all the models?
Lol, I'm not...only been with Dish for a year and the Hopper that received S237 then S238 I only have had for two weeks, my other Hopper from last March is still on S234 and really wish it would get the new version too.......
I heard through the grapevine that S238 started rolling out last night and I'm sure it will follow normal proceedures followed by a slow roll over the next week or two as long as there are no issues.
I got S238 yesterday just after midnight. I've noticed sometimes there is a bar at the bottom of the picture when I change channels to confirm my channel choice and also suggests another channel. I usually just press "view live tv". I find this sort of annoying.
What exactly are you doing and seeing? What channel are you seeing this on?
Don't remember the specifics. We were watching one of the AAD channels and when we changed to another channel a bar at the bottom of the TV popped up offering us the same channel we had just picked and another channel. The big "arrow" that you use to move around was on the channel we just selected. We noticed it a few times yesterday. I'll pay more attention now that I know there has been an update.
You should see if it happens on only AAD channels or other non AAD channels. Maybe its some sort of advertising they are running trying to get you to add more of their networks.
lucky, could he be talking about the recall button that lets you "jump back" to previously viewed channels? I think it allows you to setup how many channels you want to see on that bar and it is at the bottom of the screen like he is saying. At least it sounds like that from his description.
I thought the same thing but I guess we'll find out. Since its AAD and I don't have those channels, its possible it could be something from them as well. But the recall 4 tile option that appears could defintely be the issue as well or what he is seeing.

Yeah it was also where they had an interactive menu for every rcvr, it was some kind of tech portal but they did away with it for some reason.
Can you manualy add an OTA channel on S 238 or does it still tell you that this feature is coming in a future update?
