Sacramento Area???

Does anyone know when fios is comming to the sacramento area. I hate comcast and seeing the internet is faster then comcast. When will it get here?

Isn't your ILEC SBC/PacBell? If Verison doesn't offer telco services, you will most likely never get FiOS. SBC is deploying Project Lightspeed. It's similar to Verizon's goals, but it just doesn't take the fiber to the home. Instead, it ends at the neighborhood and the last few hundred feet travel over your existing copper via vDSL. Speeds are significantly higher, but the total capacity is signifnatly lower. It brings the option of higher speed internet, video, and voice, but due to the overall limit of bandwidth fo the vDSL line the video won't support multiple HD feeds.
