I was curious if these were weatherproof for offset dish use. I bet they might work ok without a ring for a 6' offset dish.

I see in the specs the frequency is 3.7-4.2 gHz. How will 4DTV react with that? I never tried anything other than the standard LO 5150.

thinking out loud . . .

Considering the channels are off by 150mhz if you use a Universal LNB on Analog...
(and I have no idea what that does to the mapped channels on 4D)...
I'd assume an Analog could still find Vertical channels in the same place with a bandstacked LNB, but not Horizontal channels
(or did I get that backwards?)
So, it's doubtful a 4D would be at -all- happy with a bandstacked LNB.

Modern DVB FTA receivers, and of course PCI cards, should have no trouble at all.
Support of "DP-OCS", is one of the first features the hack community seems to add.
And frankly, it should be in all factory firmware, to help promote bandstacked solutions in FTA.

I was curious if these were weatherproof for offset dish use.
This was based on the recently posted concern that all prime feed LNBs are aimed down and can drain from the front,
but most all offset LNBs are aimed up and need to be waterproof at the front?

I'd take Jamal at his word:

nope thats right.

it will on V but not H. Tried that with a bandtsacked and 99W

most receivers have a "stacked" option for C-Band. I know both Panats and the CS5000 do.
