How much do the top men of the us sport earn?

Before every begin of a new playtime in germany a great discussion about the salary of our soccer player starts. Top soccer player make ~ 8 - 10.000.000€ a year, not bad for hopping with a little leather ball :D . At the top off all in germany is Michael Schumacher, his little pocket carries 38.000.000€ + private sponsors with aprox. 15.000.000€ /Year.

These are some of the most recent amounts I have as salaries ONLY, no endorsements or other outside pay such as books, movies, or speaking fees.

According to Agence France-Presse in June 2005, Michael Schumacher's renegotiated contract extension to last through 2006 by FIAT; he is slated to make $36,298,509 or 30,007,134.93€

NFL

1. Peyton Manning $35,037,700 or 28,971,641.61€

NBA

1. Shaquille O'Neal $30,466,072 or 25,172,500.15€

MLB

1. Alex Rodriguez $26,000,000 or 21,501,640.63€

NHL - before the new CBA

1. Jaromir Jagr & Peter Forsberg $11,000,000 or 9,092,937.14€

MLS

1. Landon Donovan $900,000 or 743,956.32€

i don't think manning makes 35 gur a year. i believe the 35 gur was his signing bonus which is spread out many years over the length of his contract.

i guess we are both right. the nfl does not count the signing bonus as that years salary. but he did receive the 35 gur during that calander year. his 35 gur signing bonus is his money unless he pulls a ricky williams.

I know him, he was playing in the german major league. Was not bad this guy.
The numbers i lined regarding Michael Schumacher i read in one of our daily newspapers. Maybe it have included the turnover he makes with his clothing company (caps, shirts, shoes, aso - excluding personal sponsors)

However, a lot of money for the sportsman. No wonder that the race tickets increase every year.

He is my favorite driver; I was the US would stop denying that open-wheel racing is far superior and more exciting and begin to support more F1.

Yea, right, with only like 7 or 9 drivers participating at Indy. Fosters is better than Bud or Busch though.
