Can dish create a 3 satellite system by collaborating with DTV (77,72.5 and 61.5), so that they can use modified 1000.2 dish.

It was mentioned another project - could be HD LiL co-located on DTV/E* sats with two different encryption systems but same channels ? Then 61.5W and 72.5W would be the candidates.

Anything is possible but this would be doubtful. DIRECTV uses a different authorization, and is using 72.5 for locals in standard definition that Dish provides on other satellites.

Not really, Directv doesn't own the 72.5 slot. They are leasing it temporarily from Telestar. And since Telestar is planning to put their own satellite there for Expressvu to use, then they really can't plan on 72.5 usage.

From what I've read the "eastern arc" is an MPEG4 only service for Local HD, and National HD & SD. IIRC this only requires 2 sats: 61.5 and one new satellite, which hopefully will be up there today :)

Dish has been furiously rearranging channels and uploading the HD Locals (reaching all the way to Texas) onto spot beams on 61.5 in MPEG4. All the new satellite has to handle is the Conus National HD and SD in MEPG4.
