While looking at the picture, it reminds me of an article a few years back that airliners started to strip the paint of its planes to reduce weight and save fuel.
Off-topic I know, but it's what came to mind while looking at this black airbus. Besides, as a passenger, do you really want a shuttle riding shotgun over your head?

I don't get it - there has been the Pegasus launcher for decades that has been deployed from an airplane like the L-1011. Is the idea of this "new" Swiss system that it can send slightly heavier payloads to low earth orbit than the Pegasus can?

You'll still need the big boy's launch system for sending the sats we watch TV from to space! ;)
