satwork st3688 + ci slots

My satwork has what I guess are 2 ci slots on the right side of the receiver when I flip the front cover down. What are these for and what can I do with them? I have noticed a new adult service on IA5 that uses a card to subscribe; is this something these slots would be used for?

Ci = common interface slot. Depending on what (if anything) is embedded in your particular STB, you might need a SPECIFIC CAM (conditional access module), and you will always need a subscription to get the access card. I am not sure if they will require that you use their receiver or not. Please let us know.

the 3866 only had the face plate there is nothing behind the open slots that would accept a ci or any type of card. i am guessing they company manufactured another model with card capeability. just like the system can process ac-3 but the company did not put the output on the us addition. sorry
