Well I just upgraded my Time Warner acct. here in Buffalo,NY and they gave me the box mentioned in the title.I did a search in this forum & did not come up with anything. Is this box an older piece of junk thet they gave me as i see the 8300 mentioned a lot here & also no manual for the box!
PS:A Time Warner Rep. was going door to door trying to drum up business & came to my house & gave me a deal I could not refuse..The box with the upgraded service for $45.. a month for a year.

...Thanks! Dan

Last September they gave me a hd-dvr, and an additional hd reciever, with all their channel tiers except the hbo, showtime, starz, etc. tier, along with my roadrunner for $85 for one year and $95 for year two.

As for the box they gave you check out this link below:

It looks like it has multi room dvr capablilities, and that would be pretty kewl.

Thanks for the link! You would think that Time Warner would have some more modern equipment as this box only has a 160gb hard drive.Heck,My 6 year old Toshiba RS-TX20 has a 120gb HD in it.I have heard that some Time Warner customers in the US are using Samsung 320gb hd units.Well in the closet this Scientific Atlanta goes as I really was only interested in the price as I do not really care for HD....Thanks,Dan
