Just started today. On my local CBS affiliate around 11:45am and on BBCA around 3:50pm. The screen just went completely blank. Changed channels and it was ok. Went immediately back to the channels and they were still blank. Did it the second time on CBS and it was back. Did it the second time on BBCA and it wasn’t. Sat there for a few seconds and it came back on its own!

This is on a Hopper 3 running U532. Is this a known bug of some type on this software? I have made no changes to my setup and today is the first time I’ve noticed this happening

I saw that on a PBS station last week on my H3. pitch black screen so went to other programming. Went back later and it was working

This happened to me today, but changing the channel did not help. I ended up shutting everything off (Hopper 3, A/V and TV) and back on to get it back working. The audio went out also.

Just happened to me on Motor Trend and twice yesterday on DIY and HGTV. Usually just lasts a minute or three.

This happened to me this evening on CBS (Chicago). I resolved the issue by rebooting my Hopper 3. I found out about this issue when trying to find a program that was supposed to record but didn't. When I went to the channel, the screen was black. There were no other issues on my network channels. After rebooting, the channel came back. I contacted Dish regarding this issue. They told me they were aware of this issue. After I asked them to contact me after the issue was resolved, they put me on hold and then came back and told me that if fact this issue is closed. They told me that I had to chat to an elevated Technician who then told me I would have to talk with an account specialist. He gave me a phone number to call which I plan to do tomorrow. I will update this thread after talking to an account specialist.

Update to my post regarding CBS channel going black until the receiver was reset. I talked with a Dish Technical Manager regarding this issue and since this happened to me only once (and then reported to Dish) the Technical Engineering group declined to open a ticket unless there are several more issues of this happening and then reported to Dish. They believe that this was a one time glitch. I was encouraged to call the Dish Technical Manager again if this issue happens again. I encourage anyone experiencing this issue to call Dish since they will only open a ticket if multiple people experience this type of issue.

Sun Fade. Happens periodically in the spring and fall every year when the sun falls directly behind the line of sight of the satellite. Nothing anyone can do about it.
