Wondering if anyone has suggestions on home security both in and outside house using the Hopper 3 for monitor and of course phone app when away from home I hope this ok to post here

WIth it I can load my security software on it and watch my cameras anytime.

The security system is seperate, it has its own DVR but yes the cameras are POE. But it is accessable via Android and iPhone (and other things) so I can use their Android app on my Hopper plus, and joey 4s to look at my cameras whenever I want no matter where I am.
Well it looked like a good idea but I just did a search for the needed app and its not available for the device so I guess I won't be able to view my cameras on the Hopper plus.
If you want dire t integration then Google nest cameras are literally the only option.

So Scott excuse my ignorance but is the Hopper plus a completely a new box you have to purchase or is some type of hardware add on

Its a box that plugs into your Hopper that add the Android TV platform to your Hopper, allowing you to run Android app on your TV.
ok thanks So does anything have to go thru my phone because both the wife and I have Iphones, excuse me for being 71 and not computer savvy, I know just enough to almost get by lol

No phone use. Just a box in line between H3 and TV. No Internet? Of no use to you.
No it does not go through your phone to get to your TV.
I do have wifi now just were able to get it a couple of weeks ago in our rural area.
