Quick question for the folks with a PowerVu D9234 unit (Scientific Atlanta unit...mainly used for Armed Forces Network)

When a channel has more than one audio track, is it possible to change the audio on the channel on the D9234? There is a audio only channel that has a few different streams and the one I want isnt the first one

Any way to change it or is the 1st audio PID the only option?

Iceburg,

I have two of these receivers, actually. They are pretty neat, and work pretty well. There is a hidden menu you can get into and manually define the video or audio PIDs. It's called the Fixed PIDs menu. On the remote, enter INFO-INFO-4-0 and you will be brought into that menu. From there you can navigate and change the PIDs. The video PID should be at 0 since it's audio only.

I used this receiver all the time for DW-TV on AMC 1 before they were widescreen. Now that almost all of DW-TV's programming is almost all widescreen, the receiver is pretty useless now. Picture looks terrible since it fits the 16:9 picture onto a 4:3 screen, as the receiver cannot detect the AFD flag or go in 4:3 letterbox mode.

shoot. I dont have the remote for it. I'm using a universal remote and the info button doesnt do that. Lemme try another Universal (a newer one) and see

Thanks for the info

well I took my stupid pill the other day

I read menu-info-info then stopped...whoops. menu-info-info-4-0 DOES kick it in that menu. Set up the audio PID and set to fixed pids and voila....the audio channel I want :)

Thanks!

I was gonna dig mine out and try this for you, but glad you got it figured out!:) I have a quick ? about mine, though.
It outputs 18V from the LNB port ALL THE TIME.
Is there a way to change it so it'll do the normal 13/18 switching?
Or has mine got a problem?

mine does both. I just set the polarity in the setup menus. I know one option is H (fixed) (also a V (fixed)) so that might be the issue

when you go in the setup menus 2-3-3 I think....dont have it plugged in right now
its where you set up all the info for each transponder there is an option for polarity. I've used both H and V...in fact I logged in a H TP on AMC7 and then flipped over to Nasa which is vertical and it worked
