It seems the only items I can move to the EHD are ones I manually set a timer on. I can't figure how to move a PTAT recording to this. I am sure it is simple, but tell me how to opy or move a PTAT to the ehd.

I believe you need to wait a few days until the ptat event clears from the ptat portion of the hard drive. This is assuming that you already saved the ptat event to my recordings.
What lucky says is correct. It is necessary to save a PTAT recording into My Recordings first and then wait for the PTAT recording to time out in order to do the transfer to the EHD.... I do this quite often....
I enable PTAT but set the days to 2 and select a network unused on a day with not much going on. This allows PTAT to run but does not block the transfer to the EHD. You may want to Protect the recordings automatically to prevent their loss at PTAT timeout.
