can someone explain how to set up media share with windows XP or point me in the right direction? I looked on the D* website and the instructions seem to be for windows 7.

Thanks!

For Windows 7 is easy but for Windows XP it takes a little bit of work. You need to have Windows Media Player 11 installed. Then in WMP, go to tools and turn on sharing. After that I had to reboot the receivers to see the XP computer.

Those are not the step by step instructions but that's what I remember I did.

You can try TVersity, I've heard good things about it but never tried it.

I couldn't get Tversity to work with my receivers for some reason, but works with my PS3 and Xbox 360. PlayOn works on my receivers and its free streaming after the trial ends.
