Setting up new tailgate system

Hello all,

New to this site and needed some advise . Can I use one of my current DTV boxes (non-HD) from my home with a Dual LNB portable sat to get a tailgate system up and going?

Assuming you're talking about a single-LNB with 2 outputs, aka a DirecTV "basic" dish pointed at the 101 sat, then, yes, absolutely. Folks do it all the time.

Yes. But be aware, the switch to HD is signigicantly more complicated when it comes tuning a dish.

i tried it out this afternoon with no luck I couldnt get any feedback from the transponder signal pointing sat s at about 46 dgree angle... any feedback i'm new at this so bear with me ..

You need the alignment parameters for where the tailgate will be.

With the 101 sat only dish, make sure you change the sat setup in the receiver to that dish.
