I put up my sg2100 today. im at 95060 area code. I set elevation on motor and dish, set it to my true south, then with the receiver i moved dish to 116.8 and fine tuned it. I then tried moving to 93w and blind scanned. My results are channels from 87w, so i moved back to 103w and i get 101w channels. When i go to 116.8 channels come in right. Am i missing something or did i not set it up right? Thanks

It seems you are tracking the belt east too much. Possibly need to mark your mast and SG2100 moter, with a straight line as a reference. Then move the SG2100 to the west about a 1/8 inch.
What is your true south, closest satellite, and how many degrees off is it for your true south?
I am off on my coolsat, but have great quality. but I am just a 1/2 degre off, and played with my USUaLs, and set the satellite as: (for 125, I think I was setting it to 125.8) and got still great signal to watch programs.
see if this movement of 1/8 west of reference marks help.

116.8 is dead on, if i move it. Then 116.8 wont be dead on anymore. Also if i unhook it will my receiver know where the antenna is currently on? I have to move the receiver inside.

Your LocationSatellite DataDish Setup DataLatitude: 37.0292°
Longitude: -122.1519°
Name: Moteck SG2100
Distance: 37274km
Motor Latitude: 37.0°
Declination Angle: 5.9°
Dish Elevation: 24°
Elevation: 47.1°
Azimuth (true): 180.0°
Azimuth (mag.): 165.8° using Compass
LNB Skew: 0.0°

Dish Skew: 90.0°

Then you have to hit 123.00 Satellite (Galaxy 18) for your closest south Satellite.
Galaxy 18 at 123.0°W - LyngSat
11720 V Transponder and get it as close as possible to 90% for quality. Then try to track the clark belt
Hope this gets you off to a great start.

I know, but if you got the 116 dead on, being a 7 degrees off. That will throu off your alignment. That is why it is recommended to get to your very closest south satellite for the top of arc.
