ShawDirect HD install help needed - located in Harlingen, TX

i'm new at this and need co-ordinate settings to install my dish for shaw direct HD down in Harlingen, TX- (Azimuth Elevation Skew)

What I would do is put your zip or city/state in the sat calculator
SatelliteGuys.US_TheList - Satellite Angle Calculator

then use the info that it gives for AnikF2 (111.1). That is the HD satellite for Shaw and what numbers you use for aiming. 107.3 will fall into place

It's been raining "Cats and Dogs" overnight here in Vancouver (supposed to go to about 12° C today) but it's better than snow...

I plugged in the following ZIP in Dishpointer and got:

Address: HARLINGEN, TX 78550
Latitude: 26.2419°
Longitude: -97.5836°
Satellite: Starchoice 107W & 111W
Elevation: 56.7°
Azimuth (true): 204.9°
Azimuth (magn.): 200.3°

joshuals has a good post in the following thread on how to set-up a SD dish. (You should try to get a 75e - or equivalent - for Texas.)

It's really a "paint by numbers" approach once you have the mast for the dish vertical in both planes (plumb) with the starting data points above.

If you can put (temporarily) a reciever and a small TV near the Dish when setting up it makes it even easier.

Add to Jim's correct settings your skew at 102º.

Shouldn't be a problem - I'm south of Houston and have no issues with receiving SD - now, as for my neighbor's "weed tree" (the one that is growing up in the 1 in between his shed and our common fence) - makes it a pain in spring until the weed gets pruned...
