Seeing that i am terminating DISH service tommorow what can i do with the receiver. When i signed up i had to buy it. Im thinking of selling the receiver on ebay however i need to figure a few things.

1. When the service ends does the access card become open for others to use or would i have to get a new card.

2. The receiver is covered in traces of dust and to prepare for any selling i plan on cleaning it. Anyone know what the safest way would be to get the dust off with out water. I have to use my hands or a brush to get the dust off but i want to make it look as good as new. I do not want to place water on it because that would likely get the circuit board on the inside.

If you own the receiver, you can sell it. The card is part of the receiver and goes with it, you do not need a new card. Use a dust brush then blow the vents clean should do it. You can use a slightly damp (not soaking wet) cloth over any area's that dust may be clinging to being careful of the vent holes.
