Showtime Developing Spike Lee's 'She's Gotta Have It' As Comedy Series

The prolific writer-director is teaming with Showtime for a new take on his 1986 feature film debut, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
She's Gotta Have It, which helped spark the indie film movement in the '80s, explores race, gender, sexuality, relationships and the gentrification in Brooklyn. Lee's new take will be a contemporary look at the characters, portrayed in the movie by Tracy Camilla Johns, Tommy Redmond Hicks, John Canada Terrell and Lee.
