I have a lot of dish loss when there is a thunder storm . I was wondering if a higher signal strength would help this ? My strength runs about 75.

The better the dish is aligned, the more of the signal is collected. This gives you better tolerance for those times when water droplets are scattering the signal in your neck of the woods. Depending on the particular receiver's software, a 75 may represent a great signal.

If that is with the upgraded signal meter that has the first numerals in red then it is a great signal if it is the former signal strength meter with all numbers black then you need an adjustment as it should be 100+ with the old standard on both satellites in most areas.
