No, with the Double play you never have both pictures on the screen at the same time.

double play is a way to activate a double buffer. You can run the buffer on two different channels at the same time. That way you can switch back and forth and by rewinding or pausing; you can watch two shows at once.

there is two tuners so if you're recording a ball game and watching say "All Worked up" on Tru TV if you use the doubleplay you can flip between the two. (not that I would do that...hee hee) Since you're recording something that buffer is already being used
