SIRIUS Channel Changes Coming May 5th!

Just got word on this... looks like there will be some big changes coming on May 5th to the Sirius Lineup on DISH Network (and quite possibly on the actual Sirius / XM services as well.)

Many channels are moving channel numbers and some channels have new names...

I am listing all the channels that are listed. If a channel is not listed I have no idea what that means for the future of that channel.

Of course all this is subject to change. :)

Again if some channels are missing I dont know what that means... will the channel be dropped? Will the channel be replaced by a new channel which has not yet been announced? Honestly I don't know and have only forwarded the information which has been provided to me.

Are 4 or 5 channels missing? If anything, I hope they add channels. I like Sirius XM. I was so upset when D* dropped Sirius XM and changed to SonicTap.
 
Read what I wrote about the missing channels...

They could be staying where they are (doubtful)
They could be removing the channel (possible)
They could be getting ready to replace the missing channels with new unannounced channels. (Which is what I would lay my money on)

I read it, but I was just wondering if anyone noticed any specific channels missing from the list of Sirius XM channels from the ones available now is all. I am working on something that really needs to be done to have time to look closely at the lists. New ones would be nice. Didn't they recently change some of the Muzak channels after Christmas? I liked the new ones on there as well. I appreciate the breaking news and messages. :)
 
Regardless of whether they're adding or dropping channels, why the hell are they renumbering all of them? Just to annoy subscribers?

There may be 2 things going on here..... 1) They might be synchronizing the XM and SIRIUS channel numbers (to be the same) since they're still different (even after the merger).... This would help them promote all their channels (on-air and in outside advertising) without having to explain the 2 channel positions (for XM and SIRIUS).... And 2) They might be opening up the channel slots for the "public interest" (PI) channels that they're legally obligated to add under the FCC/Dept. of Justice agreements they signed (to get the merger approved)....Those new channels may have themes which need to be placed in particular thematic neighborhoods, ie. Spanish with Spanish, etc.

We'll find out soon enough...

After all of these changes take effect on May 5, will SiriusXM Love still be available on Dish Network? If so, what will be the channel number for SIRIUS XM Love? I didn't see SIRIUS XM Love on the changes list above.
 
Also, after the changes take effect on May 5, will SiriusXM The Blend still be available on Dish Network? If so, what will be the new channel number for SiriusXM The Blend?

If you would have read Scott's post that you quoted you would have seen the part I quoted where he says he doesn't know.
 
I read somewhere they are adding 6 "leased channels" to replace the ones they are pulling..don't know if e* will carry those tho....

Chances are its being dropped. I guess we will find out on May 5th.
 
Hmm...still not quite sold on this. Aren't the Clear Channel stations on XM locked into their channel number? Otherwise, why wouldn't XM have already "hidden" them elsewhere? If they are to remain, and are locked into their channels, then this supposed lineup can't 100% mirror XM's lineup: channels 11, 21, 22, & 24 are taken.
