just wondered if anyone has any tips on how to find the azimuth when pointing the slimline dish. i know a compass will be helpful, but i'm not quite sure how to use it. from memory my azimuth i believe is 229. when using the compass where do you place it on the dish while pointing to get the correct azimuth easily and is that based off of the middle of the dish?

any tips are appreciated.... i'm going to give this a try myself instead of waiting 3 weeks for a professional installer, haha.

Make sure you set the elevation/skew ahead of time. Then just point in the general direction of the azimuth and slowly rotate until you get a signal.

Thats the way Ive done 3 diff dish installs.

I just set the elev and tilt on the ground and installed it. Then rotate 1/8" and wait for the SS meter, and then continue until your SS is right when you hit the AZ sweet spot.
