That aint a slimline. Slimline are oblong (wider) and are Dish size: 22.5 in. x 32.5 in.

Looks like a 1.2meter dish (4 feet)

Its a 1 meter dish measured it myself falls under 1 meter rule reason why I call it slimeline mods is I still use a slimline mounting bracket that the dish sits on.

1m BUD

Yea, your 1m Muzak dish, I believe?
Prodelin?

Search back several years for a thread by Linuxman, where he built a 1m bud , too.
Though it does sound like you're havin' lots of fun.

i love it when you just drop the lnb in place and not even set it properly and you get something to watch. A C band satellite installer told me I would never get c band on a 1 meter dish told him he can eat his own shoes. What receiver would be the best to receive more channels micro HD, Manhattan, or any FTA HD recever? This is one fact about C band is true with using a offset dish you do get a lot of interference from other satellites. I have a good question for Anole. To eliminate ground scatter can I put metal shielding on the lnb support arms? to pieces of metal would hang down from the side support arms connect to the bottom support arm. it would look like a metal V.

I think the current leader in receiver development would be the microHD from SatelliteAV.
http://satelliteav.com/p/shop/?ws_pid=1593&ws_cat=446
Also available from Sadoun, and on-line dealers.

The thing about adjacent satellite interference, is the dish beam width.
Only solution there, is a bigger dish.
Or, you could set your sights on birds where adjacent satellite interference is minimal.
Perhaps the next SEVERAL satellites. ;)
A lot of studying Lyngsat and The List would be a good start.
As could reading threads where others have used undersized dishes.

An ortho feed and PLL LNBs might get you a little more, but wouldn't suppress adjacent satellite interference.
Most would call that, gilding a turd. :)

my range is kind of limited I can get from 87 to 103w 72w to about 50w and 30w is the farthest east I can get.

I sprayed the logo on there to fool people that the dish hasn't changed at all well they haven't noticed since I put it up in october.

30W is a KU band slot only

That's what I thought. A few birds on either side, but none of the Hispasats do C-band. Europe is almost entirely Ku-band :) The most eastern C-band I have gotten on my setup is 55.5W, and I doubt with my dish size that I'll ever pick up anything further east.

So do you guys think I have a good start to a mini bud setup I will be getting a microHD here shortly. North Georgia I have received Hispansat 30w with a slimline and picked most of the channels with that size dish from the back porch.

I want to give a thank you out to Brian at satelliteAV and wallyhts he is a good seller. Here are some more pics and plus I am up to 2 satellites I have picked up with the micro HD 99W and 91W. I am holding off for this summer to work on it further. 023.JPG024.JPG025.JPG026.JPG
