It was a joke, notice the smilies, but with my harmony not one of the functions that are on the D* remote is gone, I have them all.
Your harmony remote supports the battery condition warnings? My recollection is that battery life on the Harmony remotes is something like battery life on the iPhone.

I use rechargeable, I was talking about all the button functions.

Hey if you like the D* remote than all means use it, I'm not going to tell you not to, you are the one that couldn't tell I was joking.

I for one like to hit a button and the TV and the HR-24 turns on, then when I want to watch a movie I hit one button then the TV's input changes, the Blu-ray turns on and the amp turns on to the right input then if I want to play on the Xbox I can hit one button and the TV's input changes the Blu-ray turns off, the Xbox turns on and the amp changes to the right input and then when I'm all done I hit one button and everything turns off.

Plus my wife likes having only one remote out.

What function is lost after this process? Any that matters?

It disables a few things like

Low battery notification and letting you know via the tv that your remote is not set to change your directv reciver ( when the slider switch is in another postions other then the dtv logo ) and only other thing I can think of is remote control programing instructions 90 % of the time they are the same. ( there are afew remotes that are different and have different codes )

Built into the remotes is a id system. the remote sends extra info to the reciver like its model number it battery strength etc Which on some boxes cause it to respond slowly to remote commands.

Follow these steps to disable the extra info it may or maynot help.

Press and hold “Mute.”
While still holding down “Mute,” press and hold “Select” until green light flashes twice.
Enter 9-6-3 on numeric key pad.
Green light on remote should flash twice.
Press “Chan Down” key.
Green light on remote should flash twice.

The End

Thanks... I did it on my remote and it cleared up the lag when using the TV's volume control. I figure it was communicating with my STB first then sent the tv command. Since I use a D-11 only I have no speed issues there. Anyway code fixed the tv lag. Thank's again Stonecold :)
