Whats the number?

Never mind. I misread your post. But I did think about it some more.

Even if you had (or do) get a number, I seriously doubt you'll EVER talk to someone of substance.

You'll just get someone else (Winback team??) who will "buy you off".

Log into your account under programming or Programming Offers and see what you may qualify for HBO and Starz free for 3 months, and maybe a Loyal Customer offer $10 per month for 12 months.

In my 2nd month of HBO/Starz and Platinum HD offers, which has given me enough time to know that I will not miss Smithsonian HD.

Loyal customer? That's me all the way! :) Unfortunately, no such offer currently listed for me.:(

Hemi, you might not be such a bad guy after all, even if you don't like PBS. lol :hatsoff:

Is the HBO/Starz deal the same one that requires a 24 month commitment?

No, HBO Starz deal didn't require a commitment, but the Loyal customer offer requires 24 month commitment

Try this
Go into your account, Go into programming, add something to your programming Like "sports pack" or something , Then click on review and order. "don't worry it won't add the sports pack yet" Right after you click on review a window will pop up with 2 offers, If it doesn't then you don't qualify for what ever reason. Then just cancel your order,or go back.

If you get the window , STILL go back, Unclick sports pack then hit review and submit, The Offer screen will pop up again, and then you can chose if you want any, Then you can submit. Then you will get your offer. Or ,Just Call E* and see if you qualify for any.

My page shows 24 month commitment for the $10 off for 12 months, but the HBO/Starz doesn't.

huh?
I see plenty of listings for programs on smithsonian in hd right now on directv as i type this
it may be gone period implies it is closing like circuit city to me

I don't have D* so I have no way of seeing what you are seeing. I was referring to not seeing HD indicted on the Smith website. Sorry didn't realize that it was an HD only channel. I'm now back to the belief that it is hard core negotiation with Showtime. This is after reading the link from The "S" channel that was given.

BTW, thanks to this thread, it reminded me to look at the HD Extra Pack I had been paying DirecTV, and realized I had not been watching those few extra HD channels for a long time, so I went online and removed it, got credited back for the remaining month's cost.

Too bad I could not call DirecTV to complain and get $20 off for a few months like Hemi did from E*:)

Kind of like Smithsonian got Voomed. They have a new program maybe once a month on there. You could probably DVR a week's worth and never tune in again.
According to the original plan, Smithsonian was expected to add only 75-100 hours of new programming per year. By even the most generous standards, that's enough for about two weeks.

Thanks. But no offers for me. Can't add anything, I get: "Changes to annual subscription services are not available through online support. To make changes to these services, please call 1-888-884-2741."

And they're still showing me with one ViP722 & two 508s. In fact, I have two ViP722 HD DVRs and one 508. I guess I'll check the receiver and smart card #s to see if they match. Any reason to try to correct this error?

HEY, you just saved me $120! Thanks! I just signed up for the $10 off for 12 months; going to click on the HBO and Starz savings next. Very nice. :D

Me too Thanks!!! The $10 per month required a 24 month commitment. No problems for me. No cable in my area and no locals on D*. Dish is my only real option. E* was offering the upgraded HD for 3 months , also. However, when I clicked the link there was no place to sign up for it. I already have it and was hoping to get another $10 off for 3 months.

That does not jive with the website.
You have to look at Your account. Not the website for New Customers. Its different. HBO and Starz for Exsiting customers, If its being offered to you . Then no commitment, If you accept $10 off for 12 months that comes with a commitment. Log into your account Look under Programming Offers.

It all depends, when I still had E* over a year ago, called to cancel it, they offerred many deals and credits much better than the HBO/Starz thing, without any strings attached, as long as I stayed. But I did not stay for other reasons.

Ok. Since I had three months Starz, HBO and Showtime that ended late december, I did not get an offer.

Where can I get a EA 1000.4 cheap?
