Mine will eventually be a good upconverter and occasional HD player for the bedroom. I'm not going to pull it out of the rack until I stop finding hd-dvds I want to rent from blockbuster.

There are several HOWTOs on how to record HD video onto regular DVDs and play them on the HD-DVD player in HD

I sold all my movies (47) on Friday and I'm trying to sell my A1. I'm using the money to replace movies on Blu-ray.

No. I bought the Samsung BD-P1400. I think the combo player is the BD-P5000.

I really like it. I think most of the issues were when they first came out (Aug 07?) They've had 3 or 4 firmwares that have seemed to solve playback issues.

Selling a movie for $10 to pay $15 to $20 for the same movie (used) on Blu if it exists is a bit odd. Box sets are another matter. I paid $17 for a used copy "Nip/Tuck: Season 4" on HD DVD. It would cost me at least $35 on Blu. I have seasons 1-3 on DVD. I don't care if I have a blue case for season 4.
