Sony "380 PS3 games by March"

Kaz Hirai is making big promises again.

President Kazuo Hirai was quoted by the Nikkei newspaper as saying that 200 software titles and 180 download-only titles would be released for the PS3 in the current business year to next March.

They have to get some press out there to counter the GTA4 episodic/downloadable content they got outbid on, and not many other exclusives for them to tout anymore.

Sony has clarified.... only 145 of these games are coming to the US.

Sony has promised PlayStation 3 owners that at least 145 titles are on the way to the US, which includes approximately 40 PSN titles and more than 105 boxed games.

The number of first-party titles announced for fiscal 2007 stands at 15, including Heavenly Sword, Ratchet & Clank: Tools of Destruction, LAIR, Little Big Planet, Eye of Judgment, and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune.

I've heard of Ratchet and Clank, and Heavenly Sword sounds familiar (a PSP title maybe?) but are any of those other titles anything special?

Lair and Little Big Planet look incredible and get a lot of hype on the game forums.

New games and new ideas arent a bad thing, sometimes they turn out better than the "franchise" games, sometimes they turn into new franchises... but then again, most of the time they suck.

They can probably throw out 500 games, but the real question is how good are these games going to be?
