Sony audio receiver won't work with hopper remote

I have a dish hopper and am try to get my remote to control my Sony STR-K7100 . Tried searching for it using the power and up button several hundred times but still nothing. I don't have the Sony manual any more either. Sony forums aren't helping either. Any ideas?

If you have the Sony remote, try teaching the Hopper remote.

Sony has some of the simplest codes but I have done many Hopper and 922 jobs where we had to learn the codes on the Dish remote for Sony sound systems.

Not sure if this will help.

When I first got my hoppers and joeys installed we could not get the remote to work with my Pioneer Audio Receivers.
Tried multiple times.
I finally Selected Audio Amplifier and it has worked ever since.

Try using AUX code 2172.
