Sony High Definition Handycam HDR-CX7

I bought this camera to get away for dvd's or tapes. I have a 8gb pro stick and when is full I am importing the videos from the stick in to the pc using the software provided by Sony Picture Browser. But the pc's hard drive is getting full. So I want to move it from the pc to an external hard drive for future use and delet them from the pc. Also once the files are on the external drive I want to be able to export them back on the Pro Stick and play them on my PS3. This way I don's have to burn them on a dvd. Anyone knows if this works and how to do it?
