Sound Issues with Genie Main Reciever

So I thought originally that my Sound Bar was going bad. Last evening I started getting these high pitch squalling sounds from my Sound Bar, changed to Antenna so not the TV or the Sound Bar. Get my Genie Mini Receiver (WiFi) and it doesnt do it either even hooked to the same HDMI cables as the Master Receiver.

My question, if I call DTV and request a replacement unit are they going to make me sign up for another 2 years? I am considering cord cutting and I am not quite ready to take the complete plunge, still need to rectify where I am getting some of my channels.

Any thoughts, anyone else had this issue with the Older Genie Main Receivers?

Which Genie model do you have? The HR34 is the original one. If they determine that it's defective, there is no contract extension, or charge other than shipping if you don't have the protection plan.
 
any warrant replacement should not be a contract extension
if you choose to upgrade that unit, then yes there would be an extension
