I have a sony HD LCD in the bedroom and am using the speakers on the TV. They're ok but nothing to write home about.

I dont have wiring for a 5.1 system, nor would it be easy to install.

So i wondered what people did. Do many add a 3.1 or even just the left right and center speaker system ? Any recommendations on such a system.
I see the bose adverts for a small compact system that appears to be surround, are they any good ? I dont want to spend a fortune either.

Any suggestions welcome, thanks

I bought this:

And have been very happy with it. The sound is far superior to the TV's speakers and the simulated surround is decent. The best feature is the ability to turn effect settings on and off to find the best mode for your programe. The "Anouncer" mode is perfect for ball games where the fan noise is distracting.

The price is great when compared to other "speakerbar" systems.

Godd luck and happy shopping.
