So now Elon might end up owning Echostar, which also owns DISH and SLING TV and Boost Too? I guess Charlie is looking for the golden parachute to finally retire.
Considering every partnership that Charlie has ever entered into has eventually gone to crap, this is a very strong possibility.

When you figure in what Elon is worth, it makes Charlies net worth look like pocket change. If this ends in a lawsuit like things usually do at Dish, this is one lawsuit Charlie can't win.

This partnership looks good on paper and Dish could use a reliable satellite internet service provider to be able to compete with the cable internet providers, which is where most of Dish Networks customers went to during the past 10 years. The partnership is a win win for Dish. Elon only needs Dish for their spectrum and the logistics part of the operation. If Elon really wants to roll out his starlink internet, he can use the network of installers Dish has. The self install model is not for everyone unfortunately

Charlie really is playing with fire here, who knows the guy is 72 maybe he's ready to just ride off into the sunset and enjoy retirement. What's the point of amassing so much wealth if you don't get to enjoy it?

Sigh, people always say Charlie is making a mistake, and he always comes out smiling, every time

I think for Charlie in someways the journey to getting to be a billionaire and making DISH what it is today, was what he enjoyed. Remember the Charlie Chats and adding all the locals around the country? Now that he has reached that goal and he is 72, he might consider giving the company up and go into retirement, but I don't think he will ever just sit and go fishing the rest of his days. Some people live to work and some just work to live. I think Charlie is in the first category. ;)
