"Spare" Leased Receiver

I couldn't find the answer to this so... If I want to buy (lease) the new HR20 to replace my H10-250 (which is under lease) but I want to keep the H10-250 as a spare, can I keep it around the house as an inactive receiver, or do I have to return the H10 if I'm not actively using it. Thanks for any help.

If a leased receiver is not active on the account it must be returned. Of course an additional receiver is $5/Mo. so for $60 per year you can keep it as active but don't use it.
