Speculation on wrist wearable iPhone?

Does anyone remember back before smartphones?
I charged religiously every week!
No, I didn't talk a lot.
But I was in standby all that time.
And minutes cost a lot more back then. :)

I think the key to a wearable phone is getting power consumption down.
Currently, that would mean coming up with a new solution to the power-hungry display.
Maybe dust off super-twist LCD technology. ?
Maybe some compact light-collecting fiber-optics to utilize room light?
That or nuclear cuff links! ;) :up

.

I'll also bet you have never bought a watch to do more than tell time. I see them as totally comparable considering what you would buy them to do.

Not saying I would buy or want one, but the charging wouldn't be a consideration if it would make it though the day. I'm not sleeping with the dang thing on.

You would lose that bet with me!
I wear a Tissot T-Touch. Besides an analog watch, it also does these things-
1. Barometric Pressure and altimeter
2. Temperature
3. Analog compass ( the hands switch to a compass dial )
4. LCD Stop watch
5. audible alarm
6. Has a digital LCD month/day calendar that works even for leap year.

This watch has a 10 year battery.

My other watch is a solar powered rechargeable never needs a new battery.

I would not be interested in any watch that required frequent recharging.

A lot of younger people do not wear watches, and instead rely on their cell phones to see what time it is (not to mention being their alarm clock too). Us old fogies with our primitive time telling devices strapped to our wrists could be on the way out...

I haven't worn a watch since I've had pagers clipped onto my belt.

The smart watches are the first compelling reason in ages for one for me. I think they are the perfect companion to the phablet sized smart phones.
